December

So the month of December has hit us like a brick in the face.  With the ensuing holiday, it seems as though everything is on fast forward.  Our house has been decorated for the holidays since November 1, and we were a little skeptical of our neighborhood and wondering if we were going to be the only ones decorating this year.  Well, needless to say, this past weekend most of the faithful have put out their lights.  But there is one special house we wait for every year.  It is a house that is above every house.  A house that shines among some of the brightest of houses.  A house far beyond its time.  A house, well... let me just show you.

Yes, that is baby Jesus surrounded by snowmen, Mickey Mouse, Santa and a plethora of lights to make Clark Griswold proud.

When I say that everything is on fast forward, that even goes for the Cain Crew.  Reece is moving up to the next class where she needs a Nap Mat.  So, we went out last Saturday and found the perfect one for our little cupcake.

And guess what?  We will find out what we are having in just about a weeks time.  We are really uncertain as to what we are having, but we pray that the baby will be healthy.  We know we will love what ever God blesses us with and that He is the One who is in control of our lives and our family.  So, with not knowing what we will have, we have picked out a boys name and a girls name.  For the first time, we both agree on each of the names and just now await the news of what we are going to welcome into our family.

Trying to Keep up!

Let me start by saying that I am very sorry that I have not posted on the Blog in a long time! I have a really good excuse, but I will get to that in a little bit...

I really have nothing too funny or witty to say, so let me just show you some pictures of what we have been up to.

Here is a picture of Reece and her cousin Abigail. We drove to Dallas a few weeks ago to spend some time with my sister, her family and my parents.

While we were there we stayed with my parents, and they were sweet enough to take ALL of us to the Dallas Aquarium. They ended up pushing the strollers while we all chased the girls around.

Here is a picture of Reecie and mommy in Dallas.

This is how Reece spent most of her time... In Daddy's arms leaning over trying to touch the birds and fish!

Next we had to post at least one picture of our little Reecie all dressed up as the cutest owl I have ever seen!

Here is a picture of what Ryan and I did the first weekend of November. The reason that the decorations went up so soon this year was because Ryan didn't let me decorate for Fall, and so he promised I could decorate for Christmas on November 1st... So that is what happened.

The inside waited until the next weekend...

This weekend we went over to see Aunt Gigi, Uncle Chrispy, Ella and Scarlett. Reece and Scarlett were so sweet together. Reece even helped Scarlett by putting her pacifier in her mouth for her.

Scarlett also spent a little time looking at Uncle Ryry to try and figure him out. I'm not sure if she ever did.

Crazy Gigi even got on the floor to play around with Reecie. We all had a BLAST!

And now for the Big announcement----- We are almost 15 weeks pregnant!!! That is why there has been no Blog posts. Besides being very busy as you can see.,I have been VERY tired. Therefore have not had the energy to even pick up the computer to post a blog. So there you have it. Now you are ***in the know**

Welcome to Fall

This weekend we took Reece to her first Pumpkin Patch. It was so much fun for all of us, or maybe just mommy... But either way it was a great Saturday!

This is a picture of Reece seeing a tractor for the very first time. She was very interested in trying to figure out how it works. We parked, and then took a hay ride behind a 75 year old tractor thru the woods  to the pumpkin patch and petting farm.

The first animal that Reece wanted to take a closer look at was a sleeping pot-belly pig. This made her momma very proud since I grew up on a hog farm.

Reece finally got brave and let mommy take her in to pet a few of the animals. One of her favorites was the miniature goats. She liked how soft they were.

Next we took a stroll thru the pumpkins, and Reece kept trying to pick them up. It was pretty cute!

Here is a picture of Reece and I in front of the tractor.

We decided to try and see if Reece would like to drive the tractor. As you can see she was not a fan. I think she was afraid that if she liked it, her Pappa A might put her to work?

Afterward we took Reecie to the yogurt shop to have Pumpkin yogurt! It was a great introduction to to Fall for the Cain Family.

Grilling Fun

This week we decided to use the grill since the weather is changing, and it will soon be too chilly to grill. Reece was of course super cute while grilling. She loved watching the fire! I think we might have a little dare devil on our hands. At the end of the day Reece and Daddy made some great chicken for dinner!

Strong Man!

Ryan competed in his first Crossfit Competition! He did great! The competition was called "65 Roses," which is the fundraising organization that raises money for research to cure Cystic Fibrosis. The competition raised a lot of money for the cause. The competed with his friend Luke. They finished in 5th place. Reece even got in on a little of the action by doing pull ups. She was a hit!!!

Not a Sprint...

This week Ryan and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary. We also ran a 10K over the Kemah Bridge. As we have been training I was reminded of the fact that as much as you think you have prepared yourself for marriage you have no idea what it is going to be like until you actually start running the race. There were times while I was running that I would think "man this is harder than I thought it was going to be!" and then other times when I was having so much fun I forgot how hard running up that huge bridge was! I think marriage can be that way at times. Sometimes it is harder or easier than you think it will be, but no matter what you keep going, the good news is that you don't have to run alone.

To celebrate our anniversary Ryan had planned a very special night Saturday doing one of my favorite things. We had a picnic at the park. We had wine, cheese and even a duck to keep us company. It Was very romantic, and I am so lucky to have such a sweet husband!

It's my party... I'll be cute if I want to!

This weekend we Celebrated Reece's First Birthday with a cupcake party! We were lucky enough to be joined by some of our closest family and friends. Below are some pictures for you all to enjoy... Especially the few like BB, GiGi and Moi, that sadly were not able to join us, because life just got in the way.

Here we have Princess Reece in her birthday dress, with her giant cupcake headband that sweet Miss Lauren gave her for her birthday.

Here we have just a few of the cupcakes that Daddy made for the party, including the Jumbo Cupcake!

Here are a few more of the food and dessert cupcakes. We had meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato "icing", mac 'n' cheese cupcakes, gluten free chocolate & carrot cake cupcakes! They were all amazing!!!

We were able to snap a quick picture of Reece playing with her cousin Ella. We were so excited to have her come, because her sweet sister is in the hospital with a respiratory infection (Scarlett you were very missed).

One of Reecie's favorite gifts was from daddy... an old cell phone. LOL

Another very special treat was that Reece's other cousin, Abby, drove four hours from Dallas just to be at her party! It was SO-SO special. Those girls are going to have a lot of fun growing up together!

Here we have Reece opening up her birthday presents.

Daddy was sweet enough to help her open her presents.

We think she liked her cake...

What do you think?

She decided to dive right on in that cake!

What does everybody need after some cake?
Water.

Here Poppa Cain is showing Reece how to play with the baby doll.  LOL.
And Reece is just looking at him as if she understands every word he is saying.

We just want to say thank you for everyone that came out to celebrate with us the birth of our precious little girl.  We continue to thank God daily for her life and for allowing us to parent her.  She is our joy and the answer to our prayers.  We hope she will continue to bring joy to those she comes in contact with and that she will grow into the little girl that God desires her to be.

Thank you,
The Cain Crew
(Ryan and Alisha)
