Avery's 1 year Check-Up

Avery had his one year check-up today. As you can see from the growth chart he is a big boy! The Doctor was also very impressed with his technical and social development. He is walking. He has 5 words ( Mama, dada, Beaux, Bella and baba (bottle)). He is a able to interact socially with family members and friends. I love it. He even gives his friend Olaf from FROZEN "warm hugs!"

The only thing that was of concern was the fact that Avery can not eat anything that is not completely blended to a smooth texture with no lumps. Avery is going to have to start seeing a food therapist. He is also going to need a "food study." We will keep everyone posted on what we find. Any and all prayers are welcome!

We are so lucky to have such a sweet and joyous Big Boy!!!

Mother's Day 2014

This Mother's Day was so amazing. We went to the Houston Zoo as a family on Saturday.

This kids loved watching the elephants take a shower.

Here is Avery and Ryan watching Giraffs right before lunch.

After lunch Avery decided that he needed a nap! Praise God for a double stroller.

Once we got home from the zoo the kids decided that it would be a great idea to ride on the new Gator... Together... I'm not sure how safe it was, but they had a lot of fun.

Finally, on Sunday we went to church to hear the guest speaker "Beth Moore", and then lunch with Nonni.

We ended the festivities with lazy time as a family, in back yard. Over all it was a Great Mother's Day Weeekend!

Avery is 1 year old

Avery is already 1! It is hard to believe that my sweet little baby is capable of being a One Year Old!!!

He started his day waking up to a room full of balloons and a cupcakes with a single birthday candle on it. Then got out of bed and walked (yes, I said walked) into the living room to find his very own John Deere Gator! He loves it, and so does his sister!

The rest of the day we took it easy and spent quality time with our little prince. We are so blessed to have such a sweet spirited little Boy!

Getting Out & About

Spring is in full swing, and the Cain Crew is taking full advantage of the beautiful weather! This weekend we have made multiple trips to the park. It is just one block away, and Reece loves walking as much as she loves playing!

Avery has even started to join in the fun. He likes to walk across the play bridge & swing.

The other thing that is our newest obsession in walking "Across tha street" (as Reece likes to say). What she means by that is walking to the Subway that is in the front of the neighborhood. Reece loves getting Cheetos and Apple Juice. I'm just glad we are getting outside and staying active!

Easter 2014

This was the first year that we spent in Houston in several years! We were so glad that we were able to go to our own church on Easter and spend time with Ryan's family as well.

We woke up early before church to find that the Easter Bunny had stopped by and hid eggs filled with candy all over the house. Reece and Avery both had so much fun looking for egges.

Reece favorite thing of the day though, was her new Baby Ana from FROZEN! Happy Easter to All! Thank God He Is Risen!

Boys & Girls Harbor

A few weeks ago myself (Alisha) and the kids were involved in a fashion show that raised money for a Houston children's home called "Boys & Girls Harbor." It was so much fun to get all dressed up. We were even able to meet a famous football player that Ryan has been a fan of for a long time... Case Keenum!!! It was so much fun. The whole thing was put together by a few ladies and one of th was my sister Ashley. Ashley did a great job! We were so excited to help raise my for a cause near and dear to our hearts.

One Sick Baby Boy

Well over the last week we have been trying to nurse our little sweet boy back to health. He has been struggling with double ear infections, bronciolitis and thrush... The good news is the ears are all cleared up, and the Thrush is (fingers crossed) is almost gone.

We have been doing breathing treatment every four hours for 5 days. He is so used to them that he even falls asleep during the last treatment at bedtime.

Please say prayers that our little man is all healed soon! Thank you in advance!!!
