Guess Who Is 11?

MONTHS OLD!!  It is our little Reece.  As you can see, she is still full of life, energy and excitement.  To see the world through her eyes is priceless.

So, what has been going on with us over the past few weeks?  Well let me start by saying Reece has not slowed down.  I think it was a few days after she turned 10 months old when she started fully walking.  Before we would get steps here and there, but mostly crawling.  Now, all she does is walk.  She walks to greet me at the front door when I come walking in from work, and that melts my heart.  She walks to chase Beaux and Bella, and she has even started to get a little pep in her step.  I think we are soon to discover what a running 11 month old is like.  My whole goal for Reece was to be walking by the time she turned 10 months old and we did it!

Alisha has started working at a new property which is closer to our house and has been a blessing to our family.  We get to spend more time with each other and She does not have to drive over 2 hours every day.  We have gotten to have lunch together a few times during the month, which is nice to get to spend time with each other.

Me and Alisha have both been doing CrossFit.  This has really changed our lives for the better.  We are in better shape, better health and are doing it together.  Alisha has lost somewhere around 15 pounds and I have lost around 13.  The most noticeable change is in our clothes.  We have both had to go down in shirt and pant sizes.  The best part is that Reece is there cheering us on.

We are actually competing in a WOD (Workout Of the Day), this Saturday to support 31 fallen soldiers that lost their lives on August 6, 2011.  A great cause for a great WOD.

So all that to let you know, we have been busy.  We are continuing to cherish every moment we get with Reece and love her more than we could have ever thought.  We also, love to hear her giggle.  Right before bath time, is when she giggles the most.  We wish you could all hear it.  We will have to post a video of the giggle monster.

Fast Paced Life

I know that the last few weeks we haven't posted a blog... but our lives have been very crazy! A few weeks ago Ryan and I took Reece on her very first plane ride to Tulsa, OK. The main reason for the trip was because my step-mother Brenda was turning 60 years old. The bonus of the trip is that my very best friend Kat, lives in Tulsa. We were able to spend one night with them before driving on to Fort Smith, AR to see my parents. 

 Here we are with our two daughters 3 weeks ago. As you can see Kat is 37 weeks pregnant, and due any day now. I loved getting to see her belly!

 Here is Reece and my dad at Brenda's party. She was in desperate need of a nap, but decided she would just watch Pappa A instead. She loves her Pappa!

This weekend we celebrated the summer Birthdays in Ryan's family. Those birthdays were Aidan, Joey, Aunt Nan & myself. As a few of you might remember I turned 30 a few weeks ago. It was a great time of fellowship and awesome gifts! 

I also need to send an I LOVE YOU --- I'M SORRY! to my dad, because I forgot his birthday 2 days ago... I Love you dad! I'm Sorry!!!!!!!

A Piece of History

So, I hope that everyone has had a great 4th of July Holiday! I know that our little family was grateful for the day of rest in the middle of the week. The only thing that we did today, was get little Reecie Pie's picture taken in an outfit that has been in Ryan's family for 37 years. It is this cute little sailor outfit, that you see below. The outfit was originally purchased in 1975 for Ryan's older brother Robert "Rob" William Cain. Some of you may not know that Ryan had an older brother. The reason for that is because when Rob was 3 months old he was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer. He passed away when he was almost 3 years old. So you can imagine how special this original picture, and the outfit, is to the Cain Family.

So when Ryan was born they decided to take his picture in the outfit as well. Next, when Bethany (Ryan's younger sister) came along they got a picture of her in a very similar outfit (it was actually a dress that we could not find). They also took pictures of Bethany's two sons, Joey and Aidan, in the exact same sailor outfit. Below you can see the history of the outfit. This is a tradition that we are proud to carry on with Reece and any other little ones that have yet to be born...

Reecie Loves PawPaw

Reecie finally got to meet her paw paw today! PawPaw (Tim) had to make an unexpected trip to Houston to what he does best... Save The Day! He drove all night to get to Houston, and put in a hard days work. Then after all that work, and no sleep... He made a special trip to our house to take Reecie out to dinner (Ryan and I got to come too)! She loved spending time with PawPaw, and can't wait to spend a little more time with him before he heads back up NorthWest to the Panhandle.

10 Months Old

So normally I wouldn't put this many of our "monthly pictures" all on the blog, but the progression is quite humorous.

As you can see it is getting more difficult to get the little cutie to sit still, but she is also getting more and more fun.

Reece is a mover and a shaker. At daycare they put her crib by the door because she is always smiling and talking to everyone that walks past the door.

We were really hoping that Reece was going to be a girly girl, but as you can see the transition is already starting. She is now refusing to wear bows... I am hoping that this will not be a trend.

Oh well, girly or not... Reecie Pie is the light of our lives, and brings joy and smiles to everyone she meets. We pray this joy will continue forever!

I Ain't Here For A Long Time, I'm Here For A Good Time...

As the song says, we have had a great time over the past few weeks. A lot has happened and we know that we have been slacking in the blog update department, so we thought that we would just throw all of them into one BIG one!! So without further adieu, here we go!

First off, for Father's Day, we went up to the big 'D', and yes I do mean Dallas. We went for several reasons. First reason, Alisha's good friend Staci and her husband Corbin, recently had their baby boy, Aven. We had a gift for him that we have been meaning to send but due to our busy schedules, we kept forgetting. So while in Dallas, we thought it would be a great opportunity to go and see the little guy. The crazy thing is that when they first met Reece, she was about the same age as Aven was. It was so neat to see him and his mom and dad. Alisha sure does miss being around Staci, and when we get the opportunity, we try and see them when we can. Alisha and Staci had a blast getting to be moms together. It was a great visit. Off to the next event!! Reece had her cousins first birthday party to attend. Abby had her birthday party at her house in Dallas. It was a fun time, great food and great company. Here Reece and Alisha were posing for a picture. If anyone thinks they don't look alike, then they are blind. Look at those eyes!! Papa A getting the good with Reece. Here Alisha is giving him the 'scoop' on how much our little girl LOVES water. And here is all three of the newest cousins sitting together. It is amazing how much you can see their personalities with just this picture. It was very difficult for Reece to sit still, because no matter where she is, she wants to explore and move around. She really does give us a workout everyday. LOL! And of course, when swimming, everyone needs their Wubba-Nub.

And here Reece is with her GiGi. She loves her GiGi and her GiGi loves her. And then when we got back from Dallas, later in the week, we went out to dinner with Reece's Poppa. Here Reece is with me (Ryan), and Poppa (my dad). It was a great dinner, and a difficult picture taking moment. We took about 20 different pictures and this is the best one. Reece is a squiggle monster. June 23 was Alisha's birthday. She turned 30 and decided that she would embrace the 30's and be fabulous. We have been working out together for about a month now and the results on Alisha are awesome. She feels better, her fibromyalgia is getting better, and the energy we both have sure does help with our little girl. A BIG special thanks goes out to Reece's Tia B and Uncle Luke. We all appreciate the help for us to get where we want to be. We are all looking forward to the next months ahead.

So on Friday night, we went out to Benihana for Alisha's birthday. What Alisha didn't know is that Ashley and Chris Petersen, aka. GiGi and Uncle Crispy, were joining us for dinner. On our way home, Alisha and I were talking that this was the very first time that the four of us have ever been out by ourselves. We had no children. It was amazing food and amazing company. It was a great night celebrating Alisha's entrance into the thirties.
Again, thank you Nonni and Poppa for watching Reece. We appreciate it so much and Reece loves the time she gets with you guys.

Then on Saturday, we went to Mountasia Family Fun Center to celebrate Joey's birthday which was a little over a week ago. Reece was not feeling so good, but she, like many times before, was a trooper. You can see it in her eyes that she was out of it, but she managed to pose for a few pictures. Here I am giving my little girl a kiss on the cheek hoping she feels better.

And here Reece is getting her bottle with her Nonni. There is just something about grandmothers that puts every grandkid at ease.

And here we are. Our happy little family wishing everyone a great upcoming week, a great summer, and a happy July 4th.

The Nine Month Results

So after visiting the doctor on Friday, we were informed that our ears are beautiful. All clear and no sign of an infection. This was good news as we were all crossing our fingers hoping for a good report. Our little girl is all smiles when she is not being poked and prodded. She was so happy to see her doctor, that is until the doc decided to stick the ear thing in her ears, then I, Ryan, had to hold her down so we could see inside. Then came the one thing that I think all of us can relate to... The throat check. I, for some reason don't know why someone has not come up with a flavored tongue suppressor. I mean, you would think after all the years of children gagging and choking on those awful pieces of wood, that some one out there would think, man, I think a flavored one of those would work. I guess it is up to me to come up with the prototype. Anyways, back to the results of the check up. We weighed in at 28.25 inches long, 19 lbs. 8 oz., and a head 17.5 inches around. We are pretty happy with those results. We are sitting around the 72 percentile right now, but at the rate Reece is growing, we might be moving on up.
