A Cain Crew Christmas

On Christmas Eve we were able to have dinner with Ryan's family at a mexican food resturant, and as you can see Reece's favorite part was the queso. Then we were off to bed to get ready for Santa.

First thing Christmas morning we woke up, and had Ryan's family over for Christmas breakfast.

Reece was a little overwhelmed by all the people and presents.

She decided the safest place was in daddy's arms.

Once she finally woke up, she decided that it was time to explore the gifts.

The first gift we enjoyed was the new cowboy boots and her rocking chair.

The new toy that got some attention after it was put together was the new slide that Reece got from her Nonni and Poppa.

Then on Friday night we celebrated Christmas again with Ryan's nephews. It was a great Christmas that was full of surprises. This will be our last Christmas with just one child... I am sure that next year will be even more exciting!!!

Almost Christmas

As we get close to Christmas, Ryan and I decided to go to Dallas and see my parents, sister Jennifer and her family. While we were there we were able to go to a Cowboy Football game, and we were able to let Reece play with her cousin Abigail. Reece and Abby love each other so much, and can't wait to get into all kinds of trouble together when they get older! Although we weren't able to stay long I was very excited to see my family for Christmas!!!

Reece's Dedication

This past Sunday we got the honor to dedicate Reece at church. We have been going to Bayou City Fellowship for around 3-5 months now, and had seen the announcement that on December 16 they were going to be doing baby and child dedications at both services. We go to the early service, which is very conducive to Reece's nap schedule and lunch. So, we signed her up. This has been something we have been desiring to do ever since her birth, but we have just not had the opportunity to do so. Let me just say this, Reece was all over the place. In Daddy's arms, in Mommy's arms, on the stage, looking at the crowd of people, looking at the band, and looking at the pastor. Her favorite part was the piano player. He is amazing and she took notice. She was mesmerized by all of it. We were able to pray over her and say a blessing over her which was affirmed by all in attendance. It was a very powerful moment. We also want to thank Nonni and Poppa for being able to be a part of that experience. We also want to acknowledge the other granparents and family that were not able to be in attendance. We love you all and are so grateful for all of you in our lives.

Blow Dry Beauty

So our sweet little Reecie finally is starting to get enough hair to use the blow dryer! This makes her mommy very happy! Since I am the child of two hairstylists it makes me so excited to start playing with her hair. As you can tell she really likes the warmth of the air!

Here we have the finished product in her "Daddy's Princess" outfit!

It's a Boy!

As a few of you may have already found out this past week... We are having a Boy! Yes, mid next year I will be learning all about the adventures of little boys! I wouldn't normally post such a "private picture," but I will post this one picture because it is a sonogram picture and a few people want proof of my son's manhood...

December

So the month of December has hit us like a brick in the face.  With the ensuing holiday, it seems as though everything is on fast forward.  Our house has been decorated for the holidays since November 1, and we were a little skeptical of our neighborhood and wondering if we were going to be the only ones decorating this year.  Well, needless to say, this past weekend most of the faithful have put out their lights.  But there is one special house we wait for every year.  It is a house that is above every house.  A house that shines among some of the brightest of houses.  A house far beyond its time.  A house, well... let me just show you.

Yes, that is baby Jesus surrounded by snowmen, Mickey Mouse, Santa and a plethora of lights to make Clark Griswold proud.

When I say that everything is on fast forward, that even goes for the Cain Crew.  Reece is moving up to the next class where she needs a Nap Mat.  So, we went out last Saturday and found the perfect one for our little cupcake.

And guess what?  We will find out what we are having in just about a weeks time.  We are really uncertain as to what we are having, but we pray that the baby will be healthy.  We know we will love what ever God blesses us with and that He is the One who is in control of our lives and our family.  So, with not knowing what we will have, we have picked out a boys name and a girls name.  For the first time, we both agree on each of the names and just now await the news of what we are going to welcome into our family.
