Ryan is 32!

So today is Ryan's 32nd birthday. To celebrate we wanted to do something we have not ever done together.  So we went to the Houston Auto Show.  We both love cars and thought it would be a great idea to venture out to the Reliant Arena for the first part of the morning.

Just in case you were wondering, this is what the tickets looked like.

The great thing about this show was the fact that there were a mix of vehicles.  There were classics, all the 2013 models, and imports.  It was a feast for car enthusiasts.  But, most of our time was spent in the classic section.  We love old cars and just their classiness.  The curves are like no other, and there has not been anything that comes close to the craftsmanship since.

 1957 Corvette

Here is Ryan and Reece in a 2013 Range Rover.  This is Ryan's favorite vehicle.

We had to get a photo of Reece in a convertible.  She loved the steering wheel.  In due time little girl.

So, we needed a diaper change.  And guess what?  There was a family bathroom with no diaper changing station.  RIDICULOUS!!!!

And for dinner we went to Grand Lux with Ryan's parents and aunt.  Dinner was amazing and after dinner we walked to his parents car where they had a 53 lb. kettlebell waiting to surprise Ryan for his birthday present.  He was excited to say the least.  He has been itching to get one for months, but I talked him into holding out on all purchases until after Christmas and his birthday.

And here is everyone with the Birthday Boy.  Happy birthday to the most amazing husband, father and best friend I could have ever asked for.  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your life Ryan.  I love you more than you will ever know.  Here is to the next 32 birthdays.

Pink Eye Returns

As some of you might remember... When Reece was younger she had pink eye quite a few times. The cause was from rubbing her nose, and then rubbing her eyes. Well Reece has been battling a cold/runny nose for a few weeks now, and we think that she has done it again. On Sunday afternoon we noticed her eye starting to get a little pink and swollen. Then when she woke up this morning her eye was glued shut! Thankfully we had a little of the antibiotic left and started her on it immediately! Good thing Ryan was able to stay home with her today and nurse her back to health with some "Daddy TLC!" Tomorrow we are hoping she will be back at daycare.

No more Wubbanub

As many of you know Reece has several pacifiers that have a little stuffed animal on the end of it. They are called Wunnanubs. Reece has a lamb, giraffe, monkey and puppy. She has loved the from the day she was born! Well, ever since we found out that we were expecting a new little "Cain Crew" member we have talked about when would be the right time to wean her from the Wubbanub. Well, on January 2nd Ryan decided it was time. So, knowing that he was right... We took it away at breakfast that morning, and just never gave it back. Reece had started the transition a few months earlier because when she moved into the toddler class at daycare she was no longer allowed to bring it. This helped us a lot!

So the report on how it is going is.... Great!!! She is still sleeping and napping great. The car rides can get a little rough for mommy and daddy sometimes, but I think our big girl is doing fantastic!

2012 in Review

Well, 2012 has come to an end.  We wanted to just give a brief re-cap of what our year has been like and share a couple of pics of how Reece celebrated the New Year.
1 - we started off 2012 with a 4 month old little girl and we have ended the year with a 16 month old toddler who loves to be her own individual person.
2 - we started the year with 2 vehicles that got us from point A to point B, but weren't 100% reliable.  We have ended the year with 1 brand new car and 1 slightly newer vehicle that will last us for a long time.  We are very thankful for reliable transportation.
3 - we are expecting our next child in 2013, a boy, which was a surprise but at the same time an exciting moment in our family.
4 - Reece has now moved into the toddler class at her day care which means that our little girl is no longer our little baby, but becoming a big girl.  Her individual personality is coming through everyday.
5 - I, Ryan, started a new career move.  I ended my stint as a warehouse worker and have moved into the career path of an insurance agent.  I am still in school pursuing a bachelors in Insurance and Risk Management, which will help me in my career.
6 - Alisha has switched properties.  Instead of her driving over an hour and a half each way to work, she now has a 20 minute commute.  This was a huge answer to prayer, as we have been praying for this for 2 years.
